Old Stable Cottage, an attractive and spacious, all on one level, one bedroom cottage enjoys some really spectacular views over the Axe estuary and towards the sea and cliffs at Axmouth. Located, in the grounds of a farm on the outskirts of the East Devon seaside town of Seaton, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, there is access to a footpath that allows guests to walk the mile or so down to the town and seafront. Seaton is situated about midway between the lovely seaside resorts of Lyme Regis in West Dorset and Sidmouth in East Devon, on the famous Jurassic coast and the stunning South West coast footpath. Benefiting from all the quality you would expect with a VisitEngland 4 star grading, this well equipped stable conversion provides wonderful holiday accommodation all year round. Vaulted ceilings add to the light and airy feeling and a wood burner in the sitting room makes this a great choice for romantic winter breaks. A private, paved patio with furniture, and the same glorious panoramic views, provides the perfect space to sit outside and relax.

Easy access to some of the most glorious coastal and country walking in England is close by. For those that enjoy a culinary treat, Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall's River Cottage restaurant and shop, are only a few minutes drive away in the attractive market town of Axminster.

Detached cottage all on one level. July 2019

It was an excellent stay at this property. We were very comfortable. Spotlessly clean. Views were fantastic. And a good location for touring around the local area. I’ve already booked this property again for 2020.

June 2019

It is a beautiful cottage, nicely converted with a fantastic view over the valley. Ideal for a couple with a dog as there was a secure garden, and plenty of birds to watch.

May 2019

Great accommodation,Good location,

March 2019

OUr third visit looking forward to our 4th

March 2019

No. This is our third stay at this cottage and will hope to use it again in the future.

January 2019

We love this cottage. Always spotlessly clean and warm. Everything you need is supplied (including a bottle of wine) It is so peaceful and our dog loved the paddock. We are returning guest and will definately return again. Only critisism is the shower - very poor pressure.

November 2018

Yes. Good base for visiting local area. Peaceful. And lovely gesture being given a bottle of wine as well as a bottle of ale.

October 2018

Fantastic views from the cottage and lots to see in the area with lots of good walks nearby

September 2018

Thoroughly enjoyed stay - lovely views and cosy cottage

September 2018

First time with Toad Hall Cottages and if this is indicative of the general standard of your properties then I am very impressed.

July 2018

Yes, fabulous week in a great location.

June 2018

We had a very enjoyable stay and particularly liked the enclosed grassed area for the dogs. Please pass on our apologies to the owners as we realised when we got home that we forgot to empty the food waste bin on the windowsill before we left.

May 2018

An excellent base from which to tour East Devon & West Dorset eg Axmouth, Seaton, Beer, Sidmouth, Honiton, Blackbury Camp, Bridport, West Bay, Burton Bradstock. However one of favourite places was Dalwood, the circular walks round this area were beautiful (and the Tuckers Arms provided good food/drink after the walk). Also in general the whole area appears very dog friendly.

May 2018

Excellent in every way. Shall stay there again

April 2018

Our second visit hopefully we shall visit again next year

April 2018

Fabulous cottage. The standard of furnishings throughout was excellent and it was spotlessly clean. The cottage has a wonderfully private outlook with a great enclosed area for the dogs.

February 2018

Yes we did thank you.

November 2017

a very well appointed and comfortable cottage. warm, clean and owners had thought of everything in the equipment line and were on hand and very friendly and helpful. An excellent property. I have given it a Good for location, even though it has excellent views, because we were looking to be nearer to Seaton. Otherwise Excellent all round

October 2017

Everything perfect and owners very friendly and helpful. Thank you.

October 2017

We've just come back from the most amazing week in this beautiful cottage with a view to die for. Everything was catered for in terms of comfort and equipment. There was plenty of hot water and the cottage warmed up nicely if you did need to put the heating on. The farm shop on the adjoining campsite was very useful for some provisions and to have a paper ordered every day. There are some equally lovely places to visit very close by so with that, and the stunning view, there is nothing not to love about this cottage. Humans and doggies alike, we were all very sad when it was time to leave.

October 2017

This is our second visit and we enjoyed our stay very much

July 2017

The cottage was very comfortable and had modern fittings and appliances. It was in a quiet location although near the main road. The view from the cottage was lovely, and there was a patio with table and chairs where we ate our breakfast in the mornings. There was Wifi available although we hadn't taken our computer with us. There was a good mobile phone signal which was useful. There were plenty of brochures available to browse through and choose how to spend your day, and a selection of games, books and DVD's in case of wet weather. We were very lucky and had a sunny week! We will certainly consider booking this cottage again next year!

July 2017

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend to other dog owners. Large paddock area gave extended freedom to our dogs.

June 2017

A superb holiday everything was spot on could not fault it took our 2 shihtzus they loved it thank you

May 2017

A lovely week for weather perfect for walking and sightseeing A delight to return to the cottage each day Very warm and comfortable with a superb view.

May 2017

Yes, we did enjoy our stay very much indeed. The enclosed garden was ideal for our dog, who nonetheless found an escape route ! But we sorted that out. The view was magnificent. It was very spacious, yet cosy with a homely feel and it was tastefully furnished. All in all, the best holiday cottage we have stayed in for some time.

May 2017

Lovely comfortable well equipped and really comfortable bungalow that was perfect for our requirements. Great enclosed garden with private surroundings and a stunning view of the estuary, town and sea. So good we booked another week there!

April 2017

The shower was functional but a bit weak, a new shower head would be good. The central heating came on at funny time (afternoon) the timer clock was showing the wrong time but we didn`t want to mess around with it so we just turned it on and off as we needed it (eg - early morning and late evening). Good points - water was nice and hot and garden was good with nice view and lovely and quiet.

Thank you for the useful feedback. We have informed the owner who will reset the timer accordingly. We are delighted you enjoyed its location, views and peaceful location.

April 2017

The location for us was very good with views over the River Axe. It was nice to have an enclosed garden and with the doors open our dogs could go in and out at htere leisure. the local garage sold newspapers and was only a 5/10min walk from the cottage.

March 2017

A very enjoyable stay at this cottage. It was perfect for the two of us plus our dog. We would highly recommend.

January 2017

Beautiful cottage. Lovely views. So quiet and peaceful. Full credit to the owners for high standard of cleanliness and quality of furniture and bedding etc. Now we have found this little treasure will definately be back.

October 2016

Just had a lovely week at Old Stable Cottage. It really is the perfect place. Warm, clean, comfortable, a well equipped kitchen, fabulous views and really private. It's a short drive to many pretty towns and beaches. In fact we didn't have time to fit everything in, so we'll have to go back!

May 2016

Just returned from a fantastic week at the old stables. We enjoyed every minute of our stay their. Great facilities we were not disappointed. Very relaxing. Great location and fantastic view of the river Axe and surrounding area. We didn't see the owner's all week but appreciated the privacy. Our only regret is that we didn't book a second week!

March 2016

We did not see the owner/caretaker all week but if we needed to see or speck to them we had their contact details. The cottage was warm and clean. The cottage was well equipped with lovely views. We would recommend and return again. we also recommend toad hall cottages.
