Fairfield Cottage has glorious ocean views from the lawn and paddock area it shares with its partner property (Norwegian Lodge) and lovely sea views from the front bedrooms. And only a 10 minute walk down the hill to the shops, restaurants and beach of Lyme Regis. Built at the turn of the Century as servants’ quarters to the Fairfield Estate, the extension was constructed to take advantage of the superb coastal views. The panorama from the play paddock is truly magnificent and must be rated as one of the best coastal views in the county. There is also the added benefit of an additional parking spot nearer to the town and beach for convenience of access to amenities, (for the sole use of the guests), which makes this a great choice for a seaside holiday.
Within a ten minute walk, guests can meander down the hill to Lyme Regis bustling sea front and promenade. Often referred to as the ‘Pearl of Dorset’, Lyme Regis is well known for its literary association with Jane Austen as well as its diverse geology which people from across the world flock to in the hunt for fossils. The historic old town retains an olde worlde charm with small streets filled with galleries, boutique shops and famed gastro restaurants and cafés. Its sheltered south facing beaches are safe for children and water sports enthusiasts alike with great fishing and leisure boat opportunities available from the Cobb harbour. For those who would like a change of scene and a day away from the beach, the surrounding rolling countryside, which is an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, boasts walking and cycling in abundance or perhaps while away a few days exploring pretty East Devon fishing villages such as Beer and Branscombe or head to the market town of Axminster to sample Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall’s River Cottage Canteen.

Entrance hallway leads to fully equipped kitchen with electric oven, gas hob, microwave, washing machine, dishwasher, fridge with icebox, kitchen table and chairs seating four people and CD/stereo system. Large dining room with table and chairs to seat up to 8 people. Cosy lounge with open fire, comfortable sofas, flat screen television and DVD. Ground floor Family bathroom with shower, bath, WC and washbasin. Stairs with Rope Bannister leads to Bedroom 1 with sea views, 4ft 6inch double bed and en-suite shower room with WC and washbasin. Bedroom 2 with sea views plus two ‘stacking beds’ which can be taken apart to enable you to have three single beds in the room – ideally suited for three children as this does limit the space in the room. Another option is to put one of the stacking beds into the double bedroom as there is ample room. Bedroom 3 with twin beds.
Large patio area equipped with wooden table and chairs and a barbecue with steps leading onto the lawn which has a clothes airer. There is a large play area with football goal and 12ft trampoline (please note that this area is shared with another property - TLODGE).
The cottage also has the added benefit of another designated parking spot, closer to town and 5 minutes walk from the beach. Please confirm when booking if you would like the use of the parking spot. Fairfield is on a hill and the owners have supplied this added convenience to access local amenities (for the sole use of the guests).
There is ample parking space for guests by the property. The property is set on a hill overlooking Lyme Regis and for this reason the owners have kindly supplied another parking space for guests, allowing for a more gentle walk into the town and to the beach, ideal if you are carrying a lot of items and picnic boxes for the day.

Travel cot, baby bath, Mclaren buggy, high-chair/booster seat available upon request. Additional car parking is also supplied nearer the beach for the sole use of guests - please request this when booking.
