We dined here twice. The food was of a high standard, our waitress Charlotte, who served us both times was bubbly and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble, she even managed to find some blood orange sorbet on our second visit ( which we had had the first time as this was the flavour of the day and was to die for.) The Pilot Boat is right in the heart of the town and looks like a pub when you enter, but go further in and find their fabulous restaurant. Try the sorbet or ice-cream flavour of the day, you won't be disappointed. Starters and mains are excellent too.

Visited twice in the week as a party of 10. Good service on both visits and some good meals but some only average. Considered the menu to be slightly overpriced. Worth a visit but not great.

Had a top-notch dinner here in the superbly refurbished pub, service was excellent, friendly and efficient even though Lyme Regis (and I assume much of the UK's service industry) was suffering a staffing shortage when we visited in early summer 2021.

We booked in advance (a week) as we knew it would be busy as summer and restrictions were easing. Our tale was for 5.30 and we arrived at 5.20 and sat down immediately. Table was clean and there was a nice separation between the tables. Majority of staff had masks on and from where I was seated I could see that they were regularly sanitising their hands.
Food - Portions as a little off with starters being quite large. We had the catch of the day (Sea Bass) which was delicious but came with an enormous green leaf salad. The burger was delicious and portioned well. We had a delay between the starters and mains of nearly half hour but the atmosphere was relaxed and they checked in with us for drinks and apologising for the delay. When we left around 7pm the place was getting busier. So definitely book in advance. Lovely food, relaxed atmosphere, excellent covid measures and great location near the sea front.

We were a group of 4 adults and we ate evening meals here twice within a week in February; great service from friendly staff, cosy and warm, good food at good prices- definitely the best place we ate at in Lyme, hence our second visit.

Busy and many seemed to like it. Service was quick but we were early. It got busier and unless you had booked there were limited spaces. Food Ok but pricey. Good for big noisy families but not so cosy for couples.

We ate in here quite a few times whilst we were staying in Lyme Regis for the week and the food was delicious and freshly prepared. Really good choice on the menu. We were allowed to sit in the bar with our dog but they did have proper tables and chairs. All the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Excellent lunch time meal for our family of 5 adults & 2 children. Food nicely presented & very tasty. Children's meals were of a good size. Service was good & the staff were very friendly. Wouldn't hesitate to return when we are next in the area.
