Heron Cottage is a charming cottage set in a pretty street in the picturesque village of Colyton. An attractive and welcoming holiday home sleeping up to 4 guests and featuring a wood burning stove, ideal to cosy up to in the spring and Autumn. This is perfect walking country, so bring the dog and enjoy the numerous attractive walks close by. Recently modernised and well equipped, this inviting cottage is quietly tucked away within an Area Of Outstanding Natural Beauty but benefits from having local shops and village pubs on the doorstep. The cottage is conveniently located to enjoy this fascinating Medieval town, with its maze of narrow Saxon streets, the magnificent fifteenth century church and listed buildings and if you want to venture further afield it's only a few minutes drive from the stunning East Devon and West Dorset coastlines. The seaside towns of Seaton, Sidmouth and Lyme Regis are all within easy reach by car.
A tram service runs between Seaton and Colyton stopping at Colyford and passing alongside the Axe Estuary which is a nature reserve. There are numerous walks in every direction including some riverside trails and the River Coly flows from its origins further up the valley joining the River Axe just below Colyford. The mile long shingle and sandy beach at Seaton is only 3 miles away and is rarely crowded.

This cottage was the closest thing to " home from home " that we have experienced and the thoughtful touches by the owners were a pleasant bonus. The Kingfisher meals were actually quite decent too.
Heron Cottage was a beautiful property, spotlessly clean and well-equipped. The bottle of prosecco, goodies and dog treats were a lovely surprise!
Apart from the comments i have already made we loved the location and the cottage if we was in the area again we would definitely book this cottage again
Yes Owners provided everything. Prosecco biscuits dog treats tea coffee milk Parking wasn't always easy but we rarely had to use the car park. Good hoover to clean when we left Steamers in Beer was super for fish meal on birthday
The beds were really comfortable and firm.
Lovely cottage in a great location. The cottage is maintained to a very high standard. Lots of added extras which were gratefully received (wine, biscuits and milk). Exceptionally clean and tidy. Will definitely recommend.

We had a ball.
Newly renovated cottage in a village not far from the sea. So yes we did enjoy our stay. Two nearest pubs were very dog friendly
