A lovely cottage for a couple and dogs are very welcome.
Fantastic place, everything you wanted and more was there. Jane the owner was so welcoming. We will definitely be coming back again.
Made very welcome by owner and had a woderful comfortable stay
We really enjoyed our 2nd visit to the Bull Pen. The cottage was well equipped and the garden and pond area beautiful, well looked after and relaxing. We love it here!
Jane was there to greet us and show us around, what a lovely lady. The cottage was perfect for us and the fields, for walking the dog where great. We sat by the pond every evening, a superb way to relax. Would recommend this cottage to everyone. Once again thank you Jane for our wonderful week.
Wonderful cottage, good location everything you need to make it a great place to stay for us and the dog. A big thank you to Jane for her hospitality
It was a very enjoyable week in a very comfortable, well appointed cottage.
Loved our stay would book again, excellent facilities for us and our dog. Thank you
Probably the best Devon cottage we have stayed in over 20+ years. Perfect for a couple, with or without a couple of dogs.
This was a lovely place run by a very nice lady who went out of her way to make us feel welcome. The property was very good and we enjoyed the local walks especially down by the river and into the village. The location is very good in that it was easy to travel to local places with reasonable ease that allowed us to take advantage of being able to walk our dog on the beaches nearby. At the property we used the greenhouse by the pond which was a very nice addition to our stay as was being able to use the paddocks at the rear of the properties to walk our dog in the morning and evening. We hope to return to this property at another time and know that Jane the owner will without a doubt make us feel very welcome, as she did this time.
Fantastic cottage Pictures do not do it justice. Everything there you could possibly need. Very comfy like home from home. Jane the owner is a lovely lady who could not do enough for us. The goodies she left for us were very thoughtful. The setting is so pretty Will be returning again. As like all the other reviews can not praise it highly enough.
A very clean, comfortable and homely cottage. I can only concur with previous reviews and confirm that the accommodation is excellent.
On arrival we were greeted by the lovely Jane who instantly made us welcome and showed us the grounds and accommodation. We could not of asked for anything more it was truly a home from home property and Jane had thought of everything to make our stay very memorable.
Perfect accommodation and cant wait to go back!!!!
We had a lovely stay at the Bull Pen and were greeted by a wonderful host (Jane) who settled us in and left us some goodies. The accommodation was excellent and we will return probably over the winter.
Very enjoyable stay - Jane Urquhart was a very pleasant and helpful host.
We had a wonderful 11 nights stay. Jane was a wonderful host and couldn't do enough for us to ensure we enjoyed our stay. Having said that she was only there if we wanted her to be there and wasn't intrusive at all. The gardens/grounds were immaculate and you were free to take advantage of all the cosy seating areas. The cottage itself was fresh and spotless with everything you needed and for the two of as and the dog very spacious. Regarding the dog - the cottage and gardens extremely dog friendly and he was made to feel as welcome as us.The location is also perfect for exploring the East coast of Devon as well as Dorest, some beautiful villages inland as well. Great walks as well directly from the cottage door and an easy walk into Colyton. I would strongly recommend staying in any of Jane's cottages and would gladly go back again.
Lovely welcome from Jane, really useful welcome pack, our Cottage was extremely comfortable, well equipped, and the attention to detail is fabulous. Really impressed with the landscaped grounds & gardens which all guests were welcome to enjoy, something that is often overlooked with holiday accommodation. The Bull Pen is a wonderful homely & comfortable cottage, just hope we can return again soon!
Fantastic property surrounded with equally superb others. I felt that your brochure and online description of the properties was underselling these delightful, luxurious and romantic getaways. This was by far the most luxuriant of the cottages we have stayed in and the attention to detail and the friendliness of the owner was outstanding. After our disappointing experience at Aveton Gifford last year we nearly didn`t book with you again. However we thought we would try one more time, and we are extremely glad we did. The difference was amazing, totally romantic and luxuriant time we have just had is poles apart. It is a pity that more is not made of the walking and wildlife on its doorstep and also the unique position of being so close to so many beaches and seaside towns. The owner is more like a host at a country house week away and through her friendly advice, we were able to experience great eateries, hidden country houses and shopping destinations. We had contact with the owner from the time of booking with you and her attention to detail was incredible, down to enquiring which wine my wife liked. We arrived to find the best welcome pack we have ever had (from you or others) including a bottle of rose wine. Fantastic. Peter from the Isle of White
We are delighted you enjoyed your stay at The Bull Pen and your confidence has been restored with a fabulous experience in East Devon. The cottage has been recently improved to enhance its comfort and romantic appeal, which has proven a great success. The owner works very hard to ensure guests have a wonderful experience in all the properties and the feedback we receive for Tritchayne Farm Cottages is always excellent and the facilities and gardens are improving constantly. We hope you will return and enjoy the location again.

I haven't been able to select from the above but confirm that all were excellent! Tritchayne, as a holiday venue, has been and continues to be very sympathetically developed by Jane Urquhart, and if a quiet, countryside, dog friendly retreat is required one need not look further. Jane was always on hand and was a first class 'hostess'!
Jane was a wonderful and accommodating host. Spotlessly clean, and beautifully appointed The Bull Pen was very peaceful and perfectly sited for easy dog walking for us. All in all a lovely place to be and we will be back.
Our accomodation was excellent for our purpose .our dog had a wonderful time .the adjacant field where he could saftely run was brilliant for him .the cottage was a very comfortable home from home experience .i do hope this new owner gets the success she deserves .her only thoughts were for our comfort . The enclosed garden was an added bonus. We look forward to visiting again in 2017 .
