The famous Wessex Ridgeway route is on the doorstep making this an excellent location for walkers and cyclists (secure bike storage is available). The detached, three bedroom property offers smart, high quality holiday accommodation for families or couples looking for a rural location close to the coast and is particularly well suited to those wanting to walk or cycle. The cottage has been sympathetically restored to provide a very stylish and well equipped holiday home and will comfortably accommodate up to six guests in three bedrooms (two of which are king size doubles) and has the added benefit of two separate bath/shower rooms. Beautiful, far reaching views can be enjoyed from much of the house and garden. A cosy wood-burning fire also makes this cottage the perfect choice for out of season breaks.
The National Trust's iron-age hill fort at Pilsdon Pen and Lewesdon Hill (the highest point in Dorset with stunning views) are close by. Those wishing to explore further afield will find that this location makes an excellent base from which to tour the whole of the Jurassic coast, as well as the beautiful countryside of West Dorset, East Devon and South Somerset. The area is dotted with pretty little towns and villages offering welcoming pubs, tea rooms and restaurants. Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall's popular River Cottage Canteen is a short drive away in nearby Axminster.
